Ofsted Inspection Report

Posted in Important Information on September 2, 2021

Our Ref: AND

2 September 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

We are writing to let you know that having visited Landau Forte Academy Amington in July, Ofsted has confirmed that the school is taking effective action in order to become a good school.

This is wonderful news and testament to the hard work from students and staff. I am delighted that their efforts have been recognised by Ofsted, and they should all feel incredibly proud of themselves.

We hope you have time to read the full report, but some key highlights include:

  • The Ofsted inspectors highlighted that there is a clear vision in place for the academy, and our team have done well to use educational research and best practice from other schools to shape the design of the new curriculum. This is ambitious and will look to raise student aspirations.
  • Staff training at Landau Forte Academy Amington focuses on the academy’s key priorities and ensures that staff receive regular training on how to implement their curriculum effectively within the classroom. Academy leaders have created a training programme which works to develop staff at all levels, and are aware of what additional training would benefit teachers.
  • The report also highlights our new behaviour policy which has promoted a calm environment where students feel safe and happy. This has helped improve attendance, as has our clear systems to check attendance, and having a structure in place to allow students to attend remote lessons regularly where needed.
  • Ofsted also highlighted the improvements made to the English and Mathematics curricula which support students to build on their knowledge over time. Students are performing well in these areas and are given regular opportunities to test their learning.
  • The support of the Landau Forte Charitable Trust was also highlighted by inspectors as an important factor in the academy’s improvement. We receive effective support and challenge from the trust with regular meetings and open communication.

This is all extremely positive, and we are very proud of the work that has taken place at Landau Forte Academy Amington.

As ever if you have any questions please do get in touch, but in the meantime thank you for your ongoing support for the academy.

The full report can be found here.

Yours sincerely

Mr A Deen
Principal
