This is an exciting time for your child, as they select the subjects they will study and gain qualifications for in Years 10 and 11.

These are important decisions and we recommend that they take time to think carefully about their choices and that you have regular discussion at home and engage in all of the advice and support sessions that we will provide.

Students should consider future career choices, aspirations and those subjects in which they will be successful.

There will be a pathways evening for you and your child where staff will go through what the options process entails. This will take place in the academy on Thursday 29th January 2026 between 4pm and 6.30pm. There will be a short presentation to explain the process and then an opportunity to speak with different subject leads about their course offering. The short presentation will be at 4.20pm and repeated at 5.20pm and 6pm.

In addition, your child has been receiving subject assemblies since September where each subject has been sharing key information about their subjects and qualifications.

Students will be able to choose their preferred option subjects from Friday 30th January 2026 via the Bromcom Student App. Parents will be able to review choices via the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) app. Your child must submit their preferred choices by Friday 6th February 2026.

Once all option choices are received, the academy timetable is then constructed and your child will then be notified of their final options during the summer term, before the end of the academic year.

It is important to note that whilst every effort is made to accommodate all pupils’ preferred choices, there are limited spaces on some courses and some pupils may receive their reserve options.

There will be an opportunity for questions on the evening and our staff will be on hand to support you and your child through this important process. For any urgent questions, please email [email protected]
