Landau Forte Charitable Trust: GCSE Performance 2015

Posted in Examinations on August 20, 2015

Dr Antony Edkins, Chief Executive of the Landau Forte Charitable Trust, has congratulated staff and students at the Trust’s academies which are celebrating GCSE results today:

“I’d like to congratulate all our students who are celebrating their results today and thank all staff at our 3 secondary academies for their hard work in delivering improvements across the board. Our biggest increase has been at Amington where results jumped 12 percentage points. This is testament to everyone’s dedication over the past year in driving improvement and students performing at their best. At Derby College, we are delighted by a jump of 7 percentage points to 63% and at QEMS an increase of 5 percentage points to 55%.

“For the students celebrating today, these results open the door to a Sixth Form education and thereafter to university.  We are delighted that so many students will be joining our Tamworth Sixth Form and Derby College Sixth Form to build on their success.

“As a Trust, we are very pleased that performance across our academies has improved to such a great extent. In a year where national progress is seemingly inconsistent, it is very encouraging that our approach is working and we are continuing to deliver improved results and better life chances for our students and the communities we serve.”
