Students at Landau Forte Academy Amington are celebrating today after collecting their GCSE results.
Many students attained a strong set of top grades across a variety of subjects, with grades equivalent to GCSE Grade A and above. In particular, this was demonstrated by the high number of students achieving the new ‘standard pass’ and ‘strong pass’ in both English and Maths.
The new Grade 9, which is now the top grade that can be awarded at GCSE, was achieved 27 times across the school. Students who were awarded this new, highest grade 9 for at least one subject included Daniel Robins, Kyle Berwick, Rebecca Hallam, Ethan Billinge, Callum Barrett, Charlie Roberts, Amber Donaldson, Amelia Kennelly and Zoe Rosenbach.
Mrs Carrianne Robson, Head of School at Landau Forte Amington, said:
“Students, no matter what their ability, have shown hard work and determination throughout their studies and their results today are testament to this. Some students this year faced personal hurdles but, through sheer resilience and the support of their teachers, they have all overcome these obstacles and achieved results they can be proud of.
“As staff, we are therefore delighted that students’ diligence has paid off, meaning that they can now access the next stages of their education with the qualifications, confidence and skills to succeed. We are all sad to lose such a lovely year group and wish them the best of luck in the future.”
