13th July 2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you are well and are looking forward to a restful summer.
This morning, I was informed that Ofsted will be conducting a routine monitoring visit to Amington on Wednesday 14th July. The visit will evaluate whether the academy has made progress since the previous inspection of May 2019, which resulted in a positive outcome.
As you know, our teachers, support staff and academy leaders have worked tirelessly over the last two years, including through the pandemic, to improve learning outcomes and life opportunities for all of our wonderful students. In addition, we are all thankful for your continued support; especially given the circumstances of the last 18 months have been a challenge for us all. You have done an amazing job and the positive attitude of our students is a credit to our community.
Any visit from Ofsted is an opportunity for a school to demonstrate progress, particularly in the classroom. To this end, I have made the decision to move sports day back 24 hours to Thursday 15th July. I am doing this to ensure that our colleagues from Ofsted can visit as many lessons and meet with as many of our students throughout the day, as possible.
This was not an easy decision and we look forward to an exciting day of sport on Thursday, which will be covered in full in the next edition of our newsletter.
Yours sincerely,
Mr A Deen
Principal
