Week Commencing 31st January

Posted in News on January 27, 2022

Our ref: 2022/063/AND/SAF

27th January 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your support this week as we moved to blending learning due to Covid-19 related staff absence. We have listened to your feedback and have tried our very best to make the time spent in the academy as equitable as possible given the reduced staffing situation.

We have also taken the opportunity this week to build on our house competitions with many events taking place throughout the week. These encourage healthy competition and provide our students with the important experiences beyond the classroom that many young people have missed out on through the period of the pandemic.

In addition, we have delivered important extended sessions to our wonderful students on the themes of anti-bullying, sexual harassment, and building relationships. I hope you will agree that given the circumstances with staffing, this was a positive use of time for our students.

Moving into next week, we will still be in a position where staff will be isolating or recovering from the impact of Covid-19. However, it is my view that we must return to our full on-site timetabled lessons as soon as possible and so, from Monday 31st January, the academy will be open for all students as normal. I am sure you will understand if we have to make changes to our daily timetable but I believe it is imperative for us to have all of our students on-site whenever this is possible.

Finally, thank you to those parents and carers who recently attended our Principal’s drop-in session. This is an excellent source of feedback for the academy and enables the academy to listen to the community and make immediate improvements wherever we can do so. The next drop-in session is scheduled for 16.30 on Wednesday 16th February and all members of our community are welcome to join us in working together to ensure we are the best academy we can be.

Once again, thank you for your support and patience.

Yours sincerely
Mr A Deen
Principal
