Dear Parent/Carer

I wanted to write to you all before the Easter Break to thank you for everything that you are doing to support your families during these uncertain and challenging times. During the course of the last two years we have faced unprecedented challenges, from which we will all be recovering for some time yet. My thoughts are with you all as we navigate through the coming weeks and months.

I have been so proud to see all of our children and young people across the Trust return to our academies with great enthusiasm, embracing the new normal with care and tolerance. As we now move to take away the remaining Covid-19 restrictions in line with the Government guidance, I wanted to update you all on how we will continue to educate your child while ensuring they remain safe.

Following the latest Government guidance, we will no longer expect students or staff to routinely test themselves for Covid-19. However would remind you of the following key points to ensure that everyone remains as safe as possible;

  • Children with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or mild cough, who are otherwise well, can continue to attend school.
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough.
  • If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they should try to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test. The risk of passing the infection on to others is much lower after 3 days if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal.

Any children who do need to remain at home, will be provided with high quality remote learning.

Across the school site we will continue to ensure spaces are well-ventilated wherever possible, and we will continue to operate our enhanced cleaning regime across the school. We will also consistently reiterate the importance of handwashing with our students.

We are also well aware that the pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental and emotional wellbeing of our students and would like to emphasise that there is a range of support available to them. Please do encourage your child to speak to a member of staff within the academy if they would like to discuss the support options available to them.

If you have any questions or concerns about how we will continue to educate your child while maintaining their safety, please do contact the school office for more details.

Yours sincerely,
Sarah Findlay-Cobb
Chief Executive Officer
